Breast Scan (Scintimammography)
You have been scheduled for a breast scan that involves the use of a small amount of radioactive material. The level of radioactivity used is extremely low and has no side effects.

Patient Preparation
There is no preparation for this test.

Procedure
You will be asked to remove all clothing and jewellery above the waist and will put on a hospital gown open in the front. You will lie on a table and receive an injection of a small amount of radioactive material into a vein in your arm. Painless images will be started approximately 10 minutes after the injection and will take 10 minutes each.
